Zinc
is essential for the functioning of over 300 different
enzymes. The highest concentrations of Zinc
in human are found in the liver, pancreas, kidneys,
bone, and muscles. Zinc
plays a vital role in a wide variety of biochemical
processes including sensory perceptions (taste,
smell and vision),digestion, wound healing, energy
production, growth, cellular repair,collagen synthesis,
bone strength, cognitive function and carbohydrate
metabolism (glucose utilization and insulin production).
Another important role of Zinc
is in the reproductive system for the development
of sperm and for the functioning of ovulation
and fertilization.
Zinc supplementation has been reported to
support healthy skin (inhibits acne, eczema and
psoriasis) and healthy vision (prevents macular
degeneration). Zinc
supplements have also been associated with exercise
performance, especially in athletes who avoid
red meat, or follow an overly restricted dietary
regime. This is because mild to moderate Zinc
deficiency can lead to significant reductions
in ability to take up and use oxygen, remove carbon
dioxide and generate energy during high intensity
exercise. Zinc
may also support prostate health and prevent the
progression of benign prostate enlargement.
Zinc could also benefit arthritis sufferers
due to its’ anti- inflammatory properties
and it has also been used in diabetic patients
for its function in controlling blood sugar levels.
Lately much attention has been placed on this
mineral for its function in the immune system
and its use as a treatment for the common cold.
Studies show that taking a daily multivitamin-mineral
supplement containing Zinc
may increase immune response in older people. |

Klinika
Dermatologiczna, Akademia Medyczna w Lublinie.
The authors examined 2 groups of patients
treated in the Department of Dermatology
in Lublin: I--acne phlegmonosa patients,
II--alopecia areata patients. In the I
group the Zinc
content was examined in hair using the
atomic absorption spectrophotometry method
(ASA). The results obtained with this
method were analysed in comparison with
the Zinc
content in serum measured indirectly by
the alkaline phosphatase activity. In
the II group the Zinc
levels were determined in serum using
the atomic absorption spectrophotometry
method and next the results were compared
with the alkaline phosphatase activities
in serum in these patients. The correlation
was stated between both the Zinc
level in hair, in serum and the alkaline
phosphatase activity in serum. |

This
is a fabulous product. We have
tried everything and I mean everything
even to prescription products
with no results. First application
of the Dermazinc started working
and almost all traces of itching,
scaling skin and scabbing have
diminished. Complexion looks good
again and embarrassing red scale
skin blotches are gone.
Thank you!

I have used DermaZinc Cream on a 33 y/o female patient of mine with recalcitrant psoriasis of the elbows and legs. She was disheartened as her wedding approached. Steroids alone, PUVA and tar did not help. After 1 week of treatment on DermaZinc, her severe plaques began to resolve, leaving behind a mild pink hue that is fading. She is on DermaZinc and is maintaining her results. Hal Cohen,D.O
This notice is to let you know
that our recent experience with
DermaZinc has been very favorable.
Patients are doing well and are
pleased with the product. We find
that the optimum use of the DermaZinc
is for scalp psoriasis. If you
would like us to participate in
a drug study, we do have the appropriate
investigational licenses. We are
thrilled to have this new treatment
modality available for our psoriasis
patients. Sincerely yours,
Arnold E. Gellman, M.D.
To Whom it may Concern, I have
just started using Dermazinc spray
a month ago and have already seen
amazing results. I have had Psoriasis
for 20 years now and your product
is the only thing that has helped
at all. Now that my skin has cleared
up I am looking forward to going
to the beach in my new bathing
suit! Thanks you so very much
for making this wonderful product.
Thank you,

Zinc:
What is it?
Zinc
is an essential mineral that is found
in almost every cell. It stimulates the
activity of approximately 100 enzymes,
which are substances that promote biochemical
reactions in your body (1,2). Zinc
supports a healthy immune system (3,4),
is needed for wound healing (5), helps
maintain your sense of taste and smell
(6), and is needed for DNA synthesis (2).
Zinc
also supports normal growth and development
during pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence
(7, 8).
What foods provide Zinc?Zinc is found in a wide variety of foods (2). Oysters contain more Zinc per serving than any other food, but red meat and poultry provide the majority of Zinc in the American diet. Other good food sources include beans, nuts, certain seafood, whole grains, fortified breakfast cereals, and dairy products (2,9). Zinc absorption is greater from a diet high in animal protein than a diet rich in plant proteins (2). Phytates, which are found in whole grain breads, cereals, legumes and other products, can decrease Zinc absorption (2, 10, 11).(Refer to Table 1: Selected Food Sources of Zinc lists a variety of dietary sources of Zinc.)
When can Zinc deficiency ccur?Zinc deficiency most often occurs when Zinc intake is inadequate or poorly absorbed, when there are increased losses of Zinc from the body, or when the body’s requirement for Zinc increases (14-16). Signs of Zinc deficiency include growth retardation, hair loss, diarrhea, delayed sexual maturation and impotence, eye and skin lesions, and loss of appetite (2). There is also evidence that weight loss, delayed healing of wounds, taste abnormalities, and mental lethargy can occur (5, 15-19). Since many of these symptoms are general and are associated with other medical conditions, do not assume they are due to a Zinc deficiency. It is important to consult with a medical doctor about medical symptoms so that appropriate care can be given. |
